High Carbon Steel Tanto Sword

Background

Tanto are the oldest of the Samurai swords.  They are a type of dagger, and, as such, have much less curvature (if any) than the larger swords. Slightly smaller than a Wakizashi, they were often worn with Tachi as part of a Daisho (big-little sword set).  Just because Tanto are smaller in stature does not make them any less impressive - like all Japanese swords, they are as much works of art as weapons, if not more so.
